Princess
. This LO is the one I started when I was in Texas, and got to finish last night. The little princess is my lovely niece, Maja. She got this outfit from us to her 3 year birthday, and she loved to dress up in it. I got to sew with Jamie`s wonderful sewingmachine on this LO, the stiches around the edge looks so nice dont you think? The brand of the paper I unfortunately did`nt remember to note before I cut of the edges. The brown flowers are from Prima, and the pink ones are from Melissa Frances
Diamond swirls are from Prima too, and the pearls are from Kaiser Craft.Thank you so much for looking!

Scrappers United!
At the beginning of this month, a dream came true! I got to meet my friend Jamie for the very first time in person! We first hooked up at scrapbook.com, and we soon learned that we had much more in common than scrapbooking. After months of chatting trough sms, msn, skype and mails we met in Houston, Texas where she lives. It was the greatest thing ever! I spent ten days with her and her wonderful family. I had such a great time, thank you so much, Jamie! The pictures is from a visit at a wonderful scrapstore called By Design Scrapbook Boutique, visit their site here! And the last picture is of us two in Jamies wonderful scraproom, we both wear the cool t-shirts we bought as souvenirs at this store. We signed them for eachother! As for the results after us scrapping together, they will be shown here soon. Just need some finishing touches:)

"No one is as beautiful as you.."

The title is from a Norwegian song...a beautiful one. This LO was made for Scrappehuset for a challenge they have going there right now. We were to use a song for title, use flowers and make the LO look vintage. My son is only a couple of weeks old in this picture. I love this photo, he seems so calm and also so beautiful!( proud mom, yes:) The papers are from
Kaisercraft. Flowers from my friend in Texas, and so is the "cake-papers". Grungeboard hinges and flourishes from Ranger. The text I made by writing it out on overhead plastic. Little "silver" heart is from Kort&Godt. The grungeboard is painted with Colorbox Catseye and coated with Cracle Accent from Ranger. I also used this Crackle Accent directly onto the photo to make it look old. I brushed it out in horizontal and vertical stripes to give the impression of the more rough surface of old photo paper. The picture of this LO doesn`t tell the truth in colors, I had to take it in morning sunshine as yo can see from the highlighted areas some places. Thank you so much for looking!!

To a Special Friend

I made this for Scrappehuset for an article about using leftovers. I used some small stuff I had gathered in a box. I painted the book with acrylic paint, glued on the stuff and then covered it with decoupage glue. The book is a small dictionary English-Norwegian and I made it for my dear friend in Texas, Jamie.

"Happiness"

This is the LO I made for the June contest at hobbyscrap. The contest never was published, so therefore I can publish it here now. The picture shows a very happy moment for me..my son is 3 weeks old, and he fell asleep in my arms. He looked so sweet and peaceful..
The picture is actually in sepia, but it doesn`t show very well. The task we were given for the contest was to show a cirkle, and use the color lime, orange and/or red. So I chose lime and orange. The papers and flowers are all from Prima. I used another pp so make this circle of the top layer. I punched holes around the edge of it with a needle. The little pink flowers are also cut out from a pp from Prima.I saw these lovely little flowers on one of Miss Bolme`s LO`s and wanted to try it also. The letters are also from Prima. Thank you for looking and commenting!
"Inspiration "

Thank you Isak, for giving me inspiration. I love you , little man!!These are ATC`s I made for a swap at scrapbookexpress.no recently. Some of what I used :a picture of my sons hand, flowers from Prima, paper from K&Company and overhead plastic. I also used my usual Cats Eye`s to distress, colors Creamy Brown and Chestnut. Around the edge I used Ranger`s crackle paint. Thank you for looking;)
More ATC`s to my collection!

More ATC`s have arrived in my mailbox lately. They are sent from people who joined the swap I arranged here in my blog earlier. The first one is from a very sweet and talented lady I met at scrapbook.com. Isn`t this just the sweetest little thing? She even made it with my initials on! She calls her self The Viking, and Trudy is her real name, see her lovely gallery here ! The next one is from Gunn Marit, a very talented scrapper from Norway! I thought this Witch ATC was very special too, made me laugh! See her amazing work in her blog here!

"Angels"
This is a layout I made for Scrappehuset. They wanted us to show how one can use alternative scrap supplies for an article on just that. First- this wonderful picture is taken by my very talented sister-in-law. It shows my brother and my niece taking a nap on the coach. Dont they look like angels to you too? What I used for this was a anti-slide mat, pages from a book, some sewing supplies, dried branches from a bush, and some overhead plasic. I put the letters on the plastic, so I easily could mount the letters on the edge of the curled paper. The pink paper is from Basic Grey, and the flowers are from Prima. Letters from Making Memories. I just glossed them with Ranger Ink Glossy Accents and distressed them using my usual Colorbox Catseye`s. The wings are grungeboard wich I got from my friend Jamie. I painted them white, distressed, and glossed with Glossy Accents. Around the edges I glued on strips from the same book I used in the middle. I let it dry, and then ripped them off again. The stiches I made with my sewing machine. Thank you so much for looking and commenting!

"Simple Pleasures"

I made this layout as the first assignment to Scrappehuset the place I am designing for now. The challenge was to make an LO where the pictures was in focus together with journaling. It should tell about a special happening where more than one was joining, and we were to add more than four pictures. I used Picasa to make this collage and added a picture in the middle of it afterwards. The background is "painted" with coffee and acrylic paint. The metal leaves and flowers are form Panduro. The pictures is from a trip me and my DH made when I was pregnant, spring 2007.I wanted to tell about the plasure of simple living, sleeping and cooking outdoors, and drinking coffee made with love on the camp fire:) Thank you for looking and commenting!

Wanna swap?

I made my very first ATC tonight! (Artist Trading Card. The only strict rule to them are the size, 2,5x3,5 inch, 6,4x8,9cm. Besides that its just to free your creativity!) I read this page about ATC`S and was so fascinated that I had to make one of my own..I have seen some of these sweet little things at some forums, and I loved them, but I haven`t actually understood what it was all about..I do now! I made one with a picture of my self as you can see..to make my first ATC kind of an "buisness card", even if I dont have any other business than making new friends with this...:)(therefore the tiltle on it) So if you would like to join, I`ll be happy to send you one of these! You can make your own "business card" with a picture of yourself on it, or you can choose your own style if you like. Hope you join, I`m lookin forward to making more of these, and receving yours! Send me your adress in an e-mail to karenthaule@gmail.com, or post it here if you like.I will show the ones I recieve here in my blog, and link to your pages:) Ooops, its 2 in the morning...better get some shut-eye!:)

Ooops, I did it again!

I made my scraproom look like a warzone! This happens every time, I don`t know why.. Just finished the one for the June-contest that I mentioned earlier...turned out OK I think, but I`m not sure...Not exactly my style. And now I won`t have time to change it, so I will send it in tomorrow. Better get started with some scraproom-cleaning now..

My new project...
...is for the June-contest at Hobbyscrap. We are supposed to scrap in the color lime, and add orange or red in visible amount. And- they want us to show circle/circles in our LO`s. Iiiik! Never done that before, I have trouble putting a square photo( I dont wanna make a round photo either) into a circle or on a circle...But I will figure it out. I started it last week, been so busy so I haven`t managed to finish it yet...The picture in it will be one of me and my son, and I think it will be the most "romantic" Lo I have ever made. Lots of flowers, low contrast colors, and not the "dramatic" style I usually scrap in. Maybe I will try some crackle-paint on it too, havent tried it before, but would really like to. I will probably show it here in the beginning of July, when the contest is over. Hope you come back to see it then!:)

"Angel of Mine"
Finally finished! Oh, this must be the worst project ever! Never thought I would finish it. I couldn`t decide on anything this time, changed my mind all the time. I will spare you the details, but I can tell you my scraproom looks like a warzone, and so do I:) The picture is my son on his 7. month-day. The white paper I cut out from Prima Paintables. The flowers and wings are Prima too. I used Colorbox Catseye colors Mint, Turqoise, Creamy Brown and Brown to paint with. The white paper is lifted up from the background using little "gluepillows", it gives a cool 3D effect I think, sadly it doesnt show very good in the pictures. The black background is cardstock, embossed to make it shine. The little letters are from Making Memories. I love them! "Angel" is cut by my friend Sil(houette). This word gave me a really hard time..I simply couldnt find the right color for it. I tried all of the Catseye-colors I used elsewhere on the Lo, and even tried black, but no...it didnt work... I simply gave up. So now its white...not showing very good, too low contrast to the background, but so be it!:) This picture is the first one I did some serious editing to. I used Gimp to remove an object, and add more background. I`m so proud of my self!:)( I need to thank the girls at Hobbyscrap for answering all my questions about editing pictures, they gave me some important clues

Welcome QK Silhouette!
I have one now! At last my poor hands can get some rest, he will do it for them, cutting all those tiny-wini letters for my pages. I`m so happy! I think I will use it for the Lo I`m working on now. I started it yesterday. I was supposed to go to the "scrapgathering" ( Can someone please provide me with the right word here:) and start it there, but it was unfortunately canselled, so I did some scrappin`all by my lonesome. Well, Sil, this will be your first night in my scraproom, sweet dreams,my new friend!

"At Green Fields"
This one I made for the May- contest at Hobbyscrap wich just was finished. I ended on a 3. place this time, there were only 6 contestants and 21 votes. Still, I like it because of the picture. We were to make a flower of our own, add a stamp and show fresh colors, the theme was "Spring" If I were to do it over again, I would maybe have added some more elements, it looks a bit "flat". The picture is from the same serie of picture of me and my horse, as the one in "The essence..." as you can see. They were shot by a friend whom I worked with one summer, she was going to be a photographer, and wanted practice, and I wanted to be a "model" for her of course:)Wonder where she is now...probably doing pretty well somewhere, because of her great talent! The brown background-paper is from My Minds Eye. The white flowers I embossed with white powder, to make them stand out. I also scalloped the edges, and uset a foot-rasp on it to make it white. Peach-colored flower is from Prima, I just added some acrylic-paint to it using a soft brush. The flower on top, I made myself. The writing on it says "miss you" over and over again:)White flower on top is from Panduro, I cut the edges on it to make them match the other flowers, and the button on top is from a trouser from Vero Moda. It looks like an "M" on it, suits well because my horse was called "Martin". The white fabric on the flower is from a cutain form Ikea. The blonde beyond the picture is from Hobbyscrap. On the postcard I wrote to my horse, to tell him how I felt about him, Freud would have thought is was great psychotherapy for me:) The card is made by Fancy Pants, I just made it look old by tearing, bending and using Cats Eye to distress. Clips from Making Memories. the little metal-thing to the right is from Imaginisce. The text is made by my very nice neighbours`Craft Robo, using the font English Presto in Word. Thank you for looking and reading! If you click on the images you will get them bigger, remember to hit the "back" button when you wanna close it again. (If you hit the X you will close internet explorer.)

Looking forward to monday...
..then I`m going to my very first "scrapgathering" (hm..is that the right word?) It`s held at hobbyscrap, a store I visit a lot. I have started to prepare the Lo I will make there, or I mean work with there, because I don`t expect to get finished in only one evening:) I will scrap a photo of my son, and the theme of the lo will involve angels...You will probably see it here some time next week:)

"The Essence of You and I"
So, this is what came out of the scrapping I started sunday..I inteded to use the kit I mentioned, but I couldnt make it fit to this photo..so I chose these materials instead. I think they matched the photo quite well. The photo is of me and my horse, St.Martin. He is no longer alive. He broke his leg in the field, and had to be put down..I didnt own him for long, less than a year, but we had something special going on I think..Miss him! The materials I`ve used are mainly from Kaisercraft, all the papers and the rubons too. The pearls are from Panduro, The flowers from Prima. The velvet band and the lace is from Hobbyscrap. The leather-lookalike band is from Panduro too. The metal stuff is from Making Memories I think. The tiny letters I used are from Making Memories. The flowers are distressed with Colorbox Cats Eye, colors Chestnut and Creamy Brown. The title is made using clearstamps from Prima. I put it onto a white paper, distessed with with the same Cats Eye colors I used elsewhere. Thank you for looking!

Want to scrap!
Its been a beautiful day in the sun! Now I am sitting here, getting ready for scrapping tonight...Going to use some of the leftovers from the kit I used for my Lo "Close", the kit I bought at hobbyscrap...hope there is enough to make another one of it...Well..better get started, it tends to get a bit late when I visit the internet, so many places to check out!.) I`ve added some bloggers under " Places I go" today. They are mostly people I`ve met at the hobbyscrap.no forum. Talented girls, you should check their blogs if you haven`t already.

This I made for the april-contest at hobbyscrap.no. We were handed out a kit for free(!), and were to use all the parts making one or two Lo`s. Not an easy task, but so much fun!! I decided to make it a double, because I had these photos of my son I really wanted to scrap, and I thought it would be easier: the kit contained 8 different sheets, 6 printed papers and 2 bazzil. There were also to different ribbons, one tag, and a pacage with buttons and flowers. ( We could use as many as we liked of the flowers and buttons, but they were to be shown) I added some metal, coffestains, stamped dot-swirls from Prima, and the text. The last I wrote out from Word onto photopaper and cut it out by hand. I also did a whole lot of x-stitches as you can see. I also used a sewing-machine around the edge. I won this contest, Jippey!! Okay, it was not a big one, only 10 contestans included me, but I proud of my self anyway:) Click on the image to se all the details.

I have a blog!
Puh! Just finshed putting in my Lo`s and commenting them. I actually have two more, but they are currently joining contests. Before these I have shown in this blog, I have made 10 layouts. I did them to document a trip we went on last year. I wont show them here, because: 1.- I`m not so proud of them, 2- They show me in a bikini, 3- "Real" scrapping only started after the course I attended in february this year, the one held by Ingvild Bolme. All the cool people have a blog, I wanted one too. Not that it automatically makes me especially cool or anything..:)Anyway, now I have one. I hope many will visit. I have done it in english, to reach more people, and to practice my english-writing. ( I need practice, you will probably notice:) Now I neeeed some sleep, blogging is hard work...
"Close"

This picture shows my son and his father having a great time as you can see!:) My son is sitting in a Metro-Wrap, a piece of fabric used to carry infants around in. He loves it, its good for him because its the natural way, and its very practical too! I made this layout using a kit i bought at Hobbyscrap.no. The printed papers are from Basic Greys Periphery-collection. Rubons from Basic Grey too. The chipboard letters are from American Crafts, they call these ones Platforms I think. The bird is cutout from a pp, and so is the pink flowers. Overlay from Hambley. The old pages are from real old books.
"Tiny friend- are you coming soon?" ( I won with this!)

This Lo was made for a contest at Hobbyscrap.no. The second contest I joined. And I won! Ok, it was no big contest at all, and I only won by one vote, but still, I won!! So proud:) The Lo was to be done in yellow, and we were to show creative use of 3D effect, and to use overlay. I didnt use a lot of the last, but there is one white straw there and a little cirkle with text on it, its from Hambley. Printed paper from Basic Grey. So are the rubon -swirls. The butterfly is from a flowershop. The edges of the paper is distressed with Catseye. This picture means a lot to me..It was taken only hours before my son arrived.
"You are wonderful!"

..grandma always says...My son and my mum, the perfect team! Used the pp from Daisy D again, the green flowers, love them! The green sheet is from Hambly, and so are the green overlay. The black overlays are made by me. (Used clearstamp on overhead-plastic) The words are printed out from Word onto photopaper, and cut out by my poor hand using a scalpell. The butterfly is from a flowershop. The white edges on some of the paper is made by using a footrasp..( dont know the right word, but I mean one of those things you can scrape your heels with)
"And Isak is his name..."
This picture was taken by myself the day my son was baphtised. Its his uncle holding him to the sky. I am really satisfied with these photos fron this day, I had planned them for a long time. The white linen-napkin is is the one they gave us at the church for wiping his head afterwords. The black and white paper is cutout by hand from a pp from Basic Grey. The sheet in the back is from K&Co. White overlay-swirl is from Hamley Studios. The black ones are made by me. I used clearstamp on overhead-plastic, and cut it out afterwards. Butterfly from a flowershop, I only painted its body black. Isak is written with Basic Grey chipboard, the other words are printed out from Word onto scetchpaper, and cut out by hand. All og the buttons on this, I collected around the house.
"Amidala"

This is a picture of my beautiful cat. She is an Holy Birm. Her colours inspired me to scrap her, isnt she adorable? She often makes herself beautiful, displaying herself like in this photo I captured of her. Its almost like she is aware of her own beauty:) This Lo..well, I actually hate it. Not a lot, I think its nice, nothing more. That is because it gave me so much trouble along the way, and I never was satisfied with it. I dont usually "give up" until I am, but I did on this one. The stitching is done by hand, puh! The buttons are from Kort og Godt. The paper in the back is from K&Company, and the one in the front is from Basic Grey. Pearlbling from Imaginiche. Butterfly from a flowershop, and handpainted by me. Spent a lot of time on mixing the right acrylic paintcolour for this one. The blonde is from a panty of mine. :) The brown piece of fabric, came with a trouser I bought once. Rubons from Basic Grey.

Show me the world...
I made this for a lift-challenge at Hobbyscrap.no. I thought it was really hard , to try copying anothers layout. But it was good learning! Jeg tried to lift Ingvild Bolme`s "Sleeping Beauty". I used lots of weird stuff on this one..some oliveoil amongst other. I put it on the blue backgroud to add some contrast. It worked! I also used aluminum-folie ( dont know the right word in english) And I burned , for real, the green edging sheet
! I`m not tempted to try just that again, it smelled burned paper in the whole house. The picture I took of my son when he was five months old. Precious I think. The title, well..big words again, but I like it. Exept It keeps giving me associations to "Show me the money" all the time. Hope we wont hear that from him in a while:) On the letters I tried embossing for the first time. Fun, but what a mess I made!:)
"I love you with all my jumping, pumping heart...
...come - let us lick faces" . I got a bit tired of those "high up there" titles and Lo`s. Needed to do somethong simple and fun..This expression is not easily translated into english, because it is written in an old form of "new-norwegian", the second written language i Norway. We learned this expression in a "new-norwegian-class at school, probably one of the few times I had a laugh in
one of those hours:) I took this picture of my husband spring-07, vi had some fun putting these glasses and other stuff on him. I have used aluminum-folie on that chipboard-swirl in the right corner, adds a nice touch to a pretty boring Lo in general.

Everlasting Love
Yes, the title is quite pompous...probably not the right word for it, but you know what I mean. But it is true though, isnt it, everlasting love is what we all want to believe in
? I took the picture with my cellphone-camera, a really bad one too, but it turned out quite nice after all, dont you think? That was spring -06, and we were so in love, and still are!:) I made this Lo to the very first contest I entered, in february this year. I didnt win it, but it was great fun seeing my work displayed on a website. Yes, it was about then I discovered the great world of scrapbooking online, and I soon got hooked. And now I`m creating a blog! Who would have thought? Not me! Well, back to this Lo..I spent a great deal of time on it, as I usually do. There are three layers of paper. Bazzil. Then a thinlayered paper, almost like toiletpaper or something, wich I ripped on the edge after adding some water to it. This gave it a nice soft touch. The the pp on top, sown onto the others with leathertread. I`ve also used chipboard swirls, painted with catseye. The chipboard letters are painted with acrylic paint, distressed the edges with catseye, and added some glossy shine on them afterwards. The rubon-swirls are from Basic Grey I think. The ornament in the right corner I cut out of a pp. I used the white back of the cutout, "dotted" it with acrylic paint using a nature-sponge. I then used a light brown catseye to cover the white areas. I love the touch it gave, so proud of my self coming up with this idea, wich I will use again! The red metallic stuff is from the very first mothersday-gift my husband gave me.
Nature`s Beauty
I captured this photo where my parents live. There are five birches standing in an almost perfect line there, from natures side.
I only got four of them in this picture as you can see, due to some problems along the way. ( I fell into a brook, barely saved my precious camera:)) I made this Lo in february this year right after the course I attended. Swirls, both rubon and chipboard are from Making Memories. Flowers from Prima, and I think the letters änd buttons too. I used hempthread to do the stitches arount the edges.
